Upcoming Trainings

We are living through unusual times, but God is working powerfully! Are you walking alongside others who are hurting right now? New Hope would like to provide you with some simple, effective tools for this time. Two training tracks are available; please see below.

New Hope exists to multiply healing to wounded hearts, equipping and empowering those who have received comfort from God to comfort others with the comfort they have received, forming reproducing healing communities of people walking on the healing journey together. Our vision is that all those who have received comfort from God will be able to pass that on to others around them.

TRAINING TRACK 1

This series of 4 webinars introduces the participant to a trauma healing ministry and equips him or her with some simple tools. These are not full New Hope trainings, but hopefully help the participant be able to immediately address challenges they face during these days.

Register for the following webinars by emailing Tricia Stringer at tricia@multiplyhealing.org . You will receive a preregistration Zoom link the day before each webinar. After you pre-register, Zoom will send you the link for the meeting. You will need to download Zoom on your computer in order to use the links. (It is a free download) We are using every security measure to ensure that our Zoom experience is safe, and we will not be recording our sessions or sharing personal sensitive information about our jobs or places of service. However, if you are in a high security situation and you are not comfortable with Zoom, please let Tricia know and we can meet with you separately on a more secure platform.

Webinar 2: May 22, 3pm (GMT+1)
Webinar 3: May 25, 3pm (GMT+1)

Webinar 4: May 29, 3pm (GMT+1)

Webinar 1: Intro to Trauma Healing

The world we live in is broken and full of pain and suffering. We’ve all experienced stressful situations in our lives and some people continue to carry that pain around with them. Really, we are all in need of healing at some level…but what does that look like?
New Hope’s interactive 1-hour Introduction to Trauma Healing addresses issues like:

  • What is trauma? How does it affect us?
  • What does a healing journey look like?
  • What is the most effective environment in which healing can occur?
  • What does the Bible have to say about suffering and our journey of healing?
  • What are very simple tools I can use to help people along their journey?

Webinar 2: Listening

Learn and practice the most significant skill in walking alongside hurting people: how to listen well. This interactive 1-hour webinar introduces simple but effective listening tools, provides opportunity to practice, and raises our awareness of our own challenges to listening well to others.

Webinar 3: Sharing Bible Stories in Healing Conversations

If we aren’t supposed to give advice when listening to someone, what can we say that will help? What if I don’t know what to say or I’m afraid I’ll say something wrong? Thankfully, God’s Spirit working through God’s Word (not our own!) is the best response we can give a hurting person. Learn how to share a Bible story in conversation, discuss it, and practice telling it in this 1-hour interactive webinar.

Webinar 4: Using Bible Stories in Continuing Ministry

Sharing a Bible story worked better than I thought it would! How do I keep learning and using new Bible stories in conversation and Bible study? This 1 1⁄2 hour interactive webinar is the follow up to Webinar 3. Participation in Webinar 3 is required for registration for Webinar 4.

TRAINING TRACK 2
NEW HOPE ONLINE HEALING GROUPS

Introductory Session to full New Hope training

May 19, 2020 2pm (GMT +1)

Full New Hope training (time/day each week to be determined based on participants’ needs)

7 weeks of online healing groups (each group is 2 ½ hours)

This is the full New Hope training in a weekly, online, New Hope healing group. New Hope healing groups are communities that helps us walk alongside each other in our hurts and suffering. These groups also equip the participants to facilitate their own healing groups.

Participation in a weekly New Hope online healing group requires the participants to have their own small healing group that meets weekly in addition to the original group. This group may be online also if needed. Each group will be about 2 1⁄2 hours in length. Each participant will come to the online New Hope healing group facilitated by a trained New Hope facilitator, and then facilitate the same session with their own group later in the week.

In this 1 hour introduction we’ll give an overview of how the online healing groups will work, giving each participant the opportunity to decide if this training is right for them in their context and at this time. After this introduction, participants decide if they want to sign up for a small healing group that will meet once a week for the following 7 weeks, led by trained New Hope facilitators. We’ll form these healing groups based on location/time zone and similar ministries. Sign up for the introduction by emailing Tricia Stringer at tricia@multiplyhealing.org .

What might it look like to walk alongside a hurting friend when you can’t meet with them personally? We’ve already seen God working in amazing ways over virtual platforms such as Zoom, WhatsApp, FT, and Skype. How could we use technology to help multiply healing to many who are hurting right now? Let’s work together creatively to spread God’s Word!
