New Hope in Europe

A church in England is made up of members from a North African country. They have struggled for years to know how to reach out to the refugees constantly coming to England from their country. These refugees speak their language, but come from a different religious background. Now the church is planning to start New Hope groups in the fall, teaching their church members how to build relationships with and listen to the hurting refugees coming into their country.

Even in Western Europe people are finding that the skills they are learning in New Hope are helping them spread peace to those around them. From one New Hope facilitator…

One of the ladies in my current group went to visit another lady who just lost her mom. She said that she was afraid to ask the “worst part” question because she thought it might sound trite… but she did it anyway and it went really well. She got an answer she wasn’t expecting and they were able to have a conversation about it.
